According to an announcement made by Jawazat, extending the multiple-entry family visit visa requires adherence to Saudi Arabia’s departure regulations. This means that after a period of three months, holders of multiple-entry family visit visas must depart the country before the extension process is allowed to proceed. Those not adhering to this requirement will be subject to fines three (3) days after the expiry date.

Moreover, with regard to the single-entry family visit visa, the authorities stated that it can be extended through the applicant’s account on the Absher platform (individuals/business) seven (7) days before the expiry of its validity by fulfilling a number of conditions.

According to the conditions, the visitor must have valid medical insurance in line with the specific conditions of the service to complete the procedure. Furthermore, the total extension period of the visit visa must not exceed 180 days.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has now extended the validity of the single-entry visit visa from thirty (30) days to three (3) months. The new scheme will apply to single-entry visit visas issued for all purposes.

Currently, multiple-entry visas are also valid for 90 days.

The transit visa has also been extended to 96 hours per stay without any additional fees and a validity of three (3) months.

Please note that the total extension period of the visit visa must not exceed 180 days

Saudi visa extension eligibility

In order to be eligible to extend the visit visa, the following conditions have to be met:

  • the visa to be extended must be valid for a week or less
  • there must be no traffic violations logged against the visitor
  • the visitor must be present inside the Kingdom
  • the visitor’s passport must be valid
  • payment of visa extension fees

 

How to process the Saudi visa extension?

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia allows the extension of its visit visas both online and offline.

  • login to the Absher platform
  • select (Passport Services) from the list of e-services
  • choose the service- Visit Visa Extension
  • enter the required information and attachments
  • pay the fees
  • submit your application

Offline Saudi visa extension

You need to visit your nearest Jawazat office. You can fix the appointment via the Absher app, fill in the extension details and necessary forms in the Jawazat office and begin the extension process.

Please note that applicants outside the KSA cannot access the Absher portal. You have to be inside the Kingdom to gain access to the Absher application.

  • log in to your Absher account
  • click on “General Services” and then select “Passports”
  • click on the “Tawasul” service
  • lastly, select “Inquire for Requests”, and you will be able to check the status of your Saudi visa extension

 

Saudi visa extension fees

The extension fee for any Saudi Arabia visit visa is SAR 100 (USD 26.59).

Please note that in case you are applying for an extension of your Saudi visa after three days of its expiry date, you will be required to pay an additional fee of SAR 500 (USD 133) as a fine.
