Required documents
The Philippine Bureau of Immigration (BI) has enforced a mandatory registration for all international travellers on the eTravel system, encompassing both arrivals and departures. Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco emphasized the crucial nature of this registration for facilitating immigration procedures at both international airports and seaports within the country.
Exceptions to this mandate include specific diplomats and holders of certain diplomatic visas or passports. The eTravel initiative, a joint effort between BI, DICT, DOT, and other agencies, is geared toward modernising and streamlining the entry and exit procedures. Plans are in place to introduce eTravel kiosks to facilitate immediate registration, thereby replacing the conventional paper-based arrival and departure cards.
