Bahrain e-visa 

Bahrain e-visa is an electronic Visa to the Kingdom of Bahrain that can be obtained online through the website of the Ministry of Interior Nationality, Passports, and Residence Affairs.

Bahrain e-visa eligible countries 

Bahrain e-visa eligibility has now been extended to 209 nationalities. Please visit Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior website to check your eligibility for different types of visit eVisas.

If you do not meet the criteria for an e-visit Visa, or if you hold a travel document other than a passport, you may still be eligible for a Visa on arrival, a sponsored Visa, or you may be eligible to apply for a visa through a Bahraini embassy. Bahrain e-visa types

All of the following visa types can be applied for online at Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior website.

Single-entry e-visa

The single-entry visit visa is issued to eligible visitors or tourists online from Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior website, provided they meet some of the conditions. The documents required are as follows:

  • photocopy of the photo page of the applicant’s current valid passport.
  • copy of the return air ticket.
  • copy of hotel booking in Bahrain. Alternatively, if you are staying with a family member or friend, you can submit a copy of their ID reader’s printout.

Multiple-entry e-visa

The multiple-entry e-visa is issued to eligible visitors and tourists by Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior website, provided travellers are able to meet some of the conditions. Additionally, the applicant must be outside the Kingdom of Bahrain when applying for this visa.

The documents required are as follows:

  • photocopy of the photo page of the applicant’s current valid passport
  • copy of the return air ticket
  • copy of hotel booking in Bahrain. Alternatively, if you are staying with a family member or friend, you can submit a copy of their ID reader’s printout.

One-year multiple-entry e-visa

The one-year visa is a type of multiple-entry e-visa issued to eligible visitors and tourists online by Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior.

The documents required are as follows:

  • photocopy of the photo page of the applicant’s current valid passport.
  • copy of the return air ticket.
  • copy of hotel booking in Bahrain. Alternatively, if you are staying with a family member or friend, you can submit a copy of their ID reader’s printout.

Five-year multiple-entry e-visa

The five-year multiple entry visa is issued to eligible visitors and tourists by Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior.

The documents required are as follows:

  • photocopy of the photo page of the applicant’s current valid passport
  • copy of the return air ticket
  • copy of a stamped bank statement under the visitor’s name covering the last three months with an ending balance of not less than the equivalent of BD 300 (USD 796)
  • copy of hotel booking in Bahrain. Alternatively, if you are staying with a family member or friend, you can submit a copy of their ID reader’s printout.

Ten-year multiple-entry e-visa

The ten-year multiple entry visa is issued to eligible visitors and tourists by Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior.

The documents required are as follows:

  • copy of the applicant’s passport. (Family Page and any additional information page).
  • copy of valid confirmed return air ticket.
  • copy of hotel booking in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Alternately, in case you are staying with a relative/friend, please provide a copy of their ID reader’s print out.
  • copy of a bank statement under the visitor’s name covering the last three months with an ending balance of not less than the equivalent of USD 1000.

GCC residents e-visa

Alien residents of GCC countries (Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, UAE) are eligible for an e-visa. Please make sure to check your eligibility for the GCC e-visa by visiting the Ministry of Interior website.

Bahrain e-visa validity

Single-entry e-visa

The visa can be used only once for a single entry, and the length of stay allowed is 2 weeks.

The validity for this type of visa is 90 days, and it must be used within 90 days of approval. If the visa expires before entry to the Kingdom of Bahrain, the applicant must apply again, and another fee must be paid. It can, however, be extended at the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs office (NPRA) in the Kingdom of Bahrain on payment of a fee.

Multiple-entry e-visa

The length of stay allowed in this type of visa is 1 month, and the visa can be used for multiple entries and will be valid for 3 months from the time of entry.

The validity for this type of visa is 90 days and must be used within 90 days of approval. If the visa expires before entry to the Kingdom of Bahrain, the applicant must reapply and is subject to the required fees.

One-year multiple-entry e-visa

The length of stay allowed is 90 days (per visit), and the visa can be used for multiple entries and will be valid for 1 year from the time of entry.

If the visa expires before entry to the Kingdom of Bahrain, the applicant must reapply and is subject to the required fees.

Five-year multiple-entry e-visa

The length of stay allowed in this type of visa is 90 days (per visit).

The validity of the visa is 5 years. This means the visa can be used for multiple entries during this period. It can, however, be extended at the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs office (NPRA) in the Kingdom of Bahrain on payment of a fee.

Ten-year multiple-entry e-visa

The length of stay allowed in this type of visa is 90 days (per visit).

The validity of the visa is 10 years. This means the visa can be used for multiple entries during this period. It can, however, be extended at the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs office (NPRA) in the Kingdom of Bahrain on payment of a fee.

GCC residents e-visa

The GCC e-visa allows you to stay in Bahrain for either 3 days or 7 days, depending on the e-visa purchased. However, an extension can be obtained for the same period by visiting NPRA in Bahrain. (Some nationalities can stay longer). The GCC e-visa is able to be used only once for a single entry.

The total fee for the single entry on-arrival visit visa is BD 9,000 (USD 23.869), including the application fee of BD 4,000 (USD 10.608) and the visa fee of BD 5,000 (USD 13.261). Please note that the application fee and visa fee are both non-refundable under any circumstances.

Multiple-entry e-visa

The total fee for the multiple entry on-arrival visit visa is BD 24,000 (USD 63.652), including the application fee of BD 4,000 (USD 10.608) and the visa fee of BD 25,000 (USD 66.305). Please note that the application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. However, the visa fee might be refundable under some circumstances.

One-year multiple-entry e-visa

The total fee for the one-year multiple entry on-arrival visit visa is BD 44,000 (USD 116.696), including the application fee of BD 4,000 (USD 10.608) and the visa fee of BD 40,000 (USD 106.088). Please note that the application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. However, the visa fee might be refundable under some circumstances.

Five-year multiple-entry e-visa

The total fee for the five-year multiple entry on-arrival visit visa is BD 64,000 (USD 169.740), including the application fee of BD 4,000 (USD 10.608) and the visa fee of BD 60,000 (USD 159.132). Please note that the application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. However, the visa fee might be refundable under some circumstances.

Ten-year multiple-entry e-visa

The total fee for the five-year multiple entry on-arrival visit visa is BD 64,000 (USD 169.740), including the application fee of BD 4,000 (USD 10.608) and the visa fee of BD 60,000 (USD 159.132). Please note that the application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. However, the visa fee might be refundable under some circumstances.

Bahrain e-visa application 

Conditions before applying

The Bahrain e-visa (for both GCC and non-GCC residents) is issued with the following conditions:

  1. you must be outside Bahrain (visas cannot be applied for by those travellers already in the Kingdom).
  2. you must have a passport (not any other type of travel document), and it should be valid for 6 months from arrival in Bahrain. 
  3. your visa must be issued and paid online.
  4. you must have a valid confirmed onward travel ticket to leave Bahrain. 
  5. you must be capable of supporting yourself (and your dependents if travelling with you) during the visit. 
  6. your entry must not violate the security and national welfare of Bahrain. 
  7. you must use the visit visa within 30 days of its approval. (After this time, the visa will expire, and you will have to apply again and pay another fee). 
  8. you must have used your visa, or it should have expired before you can apply for another visa. (It is impossible to have more than one visa issued for a passport at a time).
  9. you must have a copy of bank statement under the visitor’s name covering the last three months with an ending balance of not less than the equivalent of USD 1000.
  10. you must not engage in any form of paid or unpaid work while visiting Bahrain.

Online application

Once you have all the necessary documents ready:

  • visit evisa.gov.bh
  • select “Apply and Eligibility”
  • enter your country of residence, nationality and purpose of visit to Bahrain
  • after entering the captcha code, you will be redirected to the type of visa you should apply for, depending on your purpose of visit
  • in the following pages, enter your personal information and attach the required documents
  • pay the fees and complete your application

You will receive a notification email and PIN upon approval of your application. Once your application is approved, you can retrieve the applications by going to the “Pay for Application” option on the Visa homepage and entering the required information along with the PIN. You can print a copy of the approval to carry with you when you travel, but this is optional. When you arrive in Bahrain, your electronic Visa will be accessible to the passport officer who greets you.

If your application is not approved, contact NPRA or the nearest Bahrain embassy. Please note that if an e-visa application is not approved, the visa fee will be refunded, but there will be no refund of the processing fee.
