GDRFA facial recognition service

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), Dubai will soon provide all of its services, such as return permits, visa and passport applications, at the comfort of their homes through facial biometric recognition.

Through this initiative, the GDRFA aims to have all of its services such as applying for residency, visa or any other services and transactions in the app processed through facial biometrics. All GDRFA services will be accessible and verified with facial biometrics. Dubai residents will not be required to use a passport or any other document to verify themselves.

When will GDRFA facial recognition service be implemented?

The GDRFA’s facial recognition services are yet to be rolled out. Fatima Salem Al Mazroui, director of the project management office at GDRFA, while speaking on the sidelines of Gitex Global 2022, said that the authority is working on the project quickly to launch as soon as possible.
